Consultation

Our initial discussion is complimentary. Once both parties have agreed to proceed, we undertake a 90-minute consultation, which includes the formation of a design brief of your project detailing your requirements, estimated realistic budget and timeframe.

The brief is designed to provide essential information to enable our creative team to deliver a successful project built on your vision and desires to create interiors that inspire and delight you. This brief is the foundation of the project and will continually be referred to throughout your project.

Internal Space Planning

We provide 2D Internal floor plans and furniture layout recommendations including remodelling of interior space (and where applicable we will work in conjunction with your Architect), 3D Computer Generated Visuals, plans and elevations and rendered illustrations.

Working on your vision, we research and explore materials, furniture, lighting, fixtures, equipment, art, cabinetry, custom made items, window treatments, flooring, suppliers, trades, finishing accessories, etc. This will evolve into the creation of Concepts, which may include drawings, sketches, perspectives, colour and material concept boards, photographs and renderings.

Design Presentation

It is important that you are presented with the design concept as a whole project that we believe is reflective of the design brief. The concept includes existing and proposed floor plans, the design of the space, details of finishes, specialist finishes, fabrics, custom joinery, furniture, lighting, artwork and accessories.

3D rendered visuals are important to your project to give you a clear vision of the end result and we encourage you to implement this part of the service. The rendered visuals take time to produce and can incur additional charges, if not already included.

During the presentation of our concept schemes we will recommend the best possible selections for your project to ensure we remain within budget.

Project Management

We liaise with all Architects, Contractors and all associated Trades for the duration of the project with supervision of quality control and regular site visits to assess progress of project.

Full Procurement Service and White Glove Installation

We maintain contact with suppliers, co-ordinating delivery schedules of all items purchased as recommended in the design concept. We are on site to accept delivery inspecting all goods before signing any receipts, place the items and complete all the finishing touches.

All products specified will be purchased through JMD Interior Design. However, if you want to purchase items yourself to incorporate into the design, it is important that we liaise closely as our designs are composed of a series of elements that work together.

Buyers Advocate

If you are moving to Australia permanently or are looking for a holiday home, we offer a unique service where we work alongside our Buyer’s Agent to source and view properties for you to purchase. With today’s technology, it is easy for you to travel through the recommended properties to make your choice.

Upon completion of the purchase we will completely remodel and/or redecorate the property within an agreed budget and timeframe making it move-in ready.

As well as creating stunning environments for you, interior design involves planning, budgeting, and communicating as well as creative problem-solving.

We want you to feel included and enjoy the journey as well as build a long-term relationship with you, so we feel it is important for you to be aware of the process we follow with every project. At the end of any project we walk through the rooms with you personally to ensure that all items are complete and correct as ordered and that you are happy with the finished design.

We will meet with you consistently throughout each stage of the project and we commit that all our communication will be clear, concise and consistent.

Fees

At the beginning of the process we charge a standard industry retainer whether it is a fixed fee or an hourly rate which is separate to any purchases you make through our recommendations.

We work with you in complete transparency. Throughout your project we encourage consistent communication, which means that you always have opportunities to provide feedback and raise any concerns throughout the entire process. It is important that issues are highlighted at the time and not at the end or at a later date.

During the project, you may ask us to provide services beyond the scope of our Agreement and as such, these will be billed at our hourly rate + GST.

The fees allow for two revisions of the initial design concept. However additional charges will be incurred for significant and/or repeated changes to the Brief specifications after they have been approved.
